At the Centre of Excellence, Centre for Intervention Sciences in Maternal and Child Health (CISMAC), a position as Postdoctoral Fellow is available for a period of three (3) years. The position includes up to 25% duty work at the Department in Bergen. This position will be linked to ongoing cluster randomized controlled trials of electronic health registries in Palestine (Harmonized Reproductive Health Registry Communication Strategies: Using Health Data to Empower Women and Health Systems) and Bangladesh (Strengthening the extension of reproductive, maternal, newborn and child health services in Bangladesh with an electronic health registry: A cluster randomized controlled trial). The Fellow will be employed by the University of Bergen, Department of Global Public Health and Primary Care, and will be working with the Section for Global Women and Children’s Health at the Norwegian Institute of Public Health (NIPH) in Oslo, where she or he will have her office and receive her or his administrative support.
About the project
The main focus of the project is to study the role of integrated reproductive health registries in supporting continuity and quality of care for women and children. In Palestine, an electronic reproductive health registry (an ‘eRegistry’: eregistries.org) is being rolled out nationally and supported by trials estimate its effectiveness. Trials include those looking at behavior change communication, and audit and feedback for providers. In Bangladesh, an eRegistry is being used to evaluate and enhance the impact of a Maternal and Child Health Extension Program in Matlab.
